Probable Diffuse Idiopathic Skeletal Hyperostosis (DISH) in Pre-Pottery Neolithic Cyprus

چکیده

Abstract. The site of Khirokitia in Cyprus (7th-early 6th millennium BC) yielded one the largest series human remains for Pre-Pottery Neolithic period Eastern Mediterranean and Near region (MNI = 243). paleopathological study this allowed us to diagnose a probable case diffuse idiopathic skeletal hyperostosis (DISH) affecting male aged between 30 49 years, who also suffered from osteoarthritis. DISH has rarely been identified among prehistoric populations, especially region; described here is currently only known period. It provides new elements our knowledge health status early populations.
